Like many players I always wondered what could be done to really enhance the SilerFace Fender Champ. A quick run-down: modded version of 5F1-A Tweed circuit (tone controls disabled - straight volume control only), gain structure is upped in both sections of the amp, frequency response is tightened, zero self-hum at max volume - extremely quiet (incl. isolated 1/4" speaker jack) ... tone wise think AC/DC at max volume with a good dose of compression (not too much) and a hot Champ response at lower settings ... great rhythm and lead/sustained feedback boogie sounds - has not lost its Fender character ... just sold one and I have another coming up - email me for details ...
